A few days in Iceland

03:58

In late july I started my month away with a quick stop over in a beautiful country, Iceland. We stayed at Reykjavik Campsite which is an extremely affordable option in an expensive country, they have lovely hot showers, bag storage, wifi, kitchen facilities and even help you book excursions! The only problem however is we forgot our sleeping bags and even for us Brits an Iceland summer is cold, also at that time of year there is pretty much 24 hours of daylight so bring an eye mask! So it's fair to say because we're forgetful idiots we didn't get a whole lot of sleep!

The first day we visited Reykjavik it truly is a beautiful city with cute shops, cafés and a rich history.

The next day we decided to go on an excursion to see some more of the country we booked the golden circle tour with Iceland Excursions they offered a competitive price we're recommended by other travellers at the campground. The golden circle covers some of the main attractions in that region if Iceland including the original Geyser, Gullfoss, Tingvellir national park and much more!

Our guide was amazing, so informative but also full of fun stories about Iceland and it's people, I would highly recommend this tour if you're only in Iceland a few days.

The next day we went to the legendary Blue Lagoon with Reykjavik Excursions this included transport and entry fee to the lagoon.

Wow did this place feel like heaven, the lagoon has geothermal water which features three active ingredients Silica, Algae and minerals which are all really good for your skin.

The temperature is a lovely 37-40 degrees C which is just like relaxing in a bath. This experience was truly one of a kind not to mention my skin felt wonderful afterwards!!

Overall we had a fantastic time in Iceland and we're so sad to leave, we will definitely go back one day! If you fancy it we made a video documenting our time there fir my travel channel so feel free to have a nosey!
