Goodbye Winter, Hello Spring it's been a while...
04:47
So apparently Spring has sprung here in the
UK officially March 20th was the beginning of this glorious season
and to celebrate this occasion (yes I’m a bit late…) I have decided to list all
the things I love about spring, and give you some tips on how to make the most
of this blooming lovely season...pun intended, don’t judge me. So let’s get
started!
Hello Instagram worthy Room
I feel like sorting out my wardrobe and room in general ease
the pain of daily stresses, clutter just makes things worse. I say every year
that I’m going to have seasonal clear out… it never happens, I wish I could be
that person but I’m just not; However there’s something about spring that always
gets me motivated maybe it’s the fact we’re slowly clawing our hours of light
back from Winters dreary mitts or maybe it’s just because all the blogs are
telling me to have a clear out at this time of year, who knows? Anyway de
clutter, open the windows and let the glorious spring air dust away the
stresses of life. Plus you’re gonna need to open a window with all the nail
polishing you’ll be doing, spring shades are to die for!
It’s also a time when everyone is no longer
afraid of the outdoors and its gale force winds, snow, ice and general misery.
To cater to this new found sense of the outdoors being our friend again,
markets spring up all over the place, vintage, farmers, craft, international
you name it Markets seem to be everywhere at the moment, take advantage of this
and find out your nearest one of interest and have a little morning mooch!
Am I right? Who doesn’t love wearing colour
again after months of black or being able to show off the outfit you put
together instead of hiding it under a massive coat!! Plus there’s something
oddly comforting about spring fashion the same trends always seem to come
around again, pastels will always be acceptable, and even though Meryl Streep
may not think florals in spring are ground-breaking they look great every year
however your rocking them, I mean come on florals? Any excuse right?
Peonies please
The Flowers are all in bloom the trees are
getting greener and the world feels like its waking up again! I’m currently
studying floristry and trust me Winter is a bit of a black hole when it comes to
flowers not much grows in that dark and cold season, so stepping into spring is
like a breath of fresh air! Daffodils, Peonies, Tulips and so much more are all
coming out to play! If any of you would like me to do any floristry tutorials
let me know!
Breathing
Yes I said breathing! Now this is an exercise I like to take part
in all year round however in spring everything has that amazing fresh smell that
you just don’t get with winter as it’s so bloody cold your always dashing from
one place to the next trying to find any source of heat you can, you end up not
taking in the fresh air. Spring feels my lungs with satisfaction and has that
amazing crisp feeling, the grass is sparkling and the air is cool but oh so
gorgeous on the skin – Next time you go outside take in a deep breath and feel
the goodness, spring says your welcome.
This season is great for thrifting and hunting
the charity shops for amazing deals as most people have spring cleans this time
of year. So get ready to look for those gems, Topshop jeans for a fiver? Don’t
mind if I do.
So what have we learnt? I sure can waffle on about spring?
Yes true, but also de clutter, then take advantage of someone doing the same
and thrift to your hearts content, open those windows and breathe, it will make
you feel better, enjoy some food, crafts and some spring time flowers at the
market but above all you rock those florals.
